The opportunity for renewing an Emirates ID begins to open six months before the card's expiration date and remains available until one month before the card's expiration date for UAE citizens. On the other hand, those who already have a UAE resident visa are only eligible to submit a renewal application if their residence visa is currently being renewed or reissued.

These fees include a card issuance fee of AED 100 for a validity period of five years, a service fee of AED 150, a typing center fee of AED 30, and an additional AED 150 for urgent service requests, which can be carried out at customer happiness centres.
