The UAE announces the conditions for obtaining a “green visa”
The UAE government announced the Green Residency Visa, which enables its holder to live in the country for 5 years without the need for an employer sponsor, for workers, independent contractors, and private sector employers who are eligible to apply for the visa.

According to the official website of the UAE government, green residency is a type of residency visa that was introduced in 2021, and the residency is renewable after it expires.
Conditions for obtaining a “green” visa for owners of private companies:
He also added that owners of private companies who are self-employed are eligible to obtain a green residence visa. Private sector employers and self-employed workers must meet the following criteria:
1- Obtaining a freelance work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for independent work
2- The minimum level of education is required, equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or a specialized diploma. 3- The applicant must prove his financial stability throughout his stay in the country by proving that his annual income from self-employment for the previous two years was not less than 360 thousand dirhams or its equivalent in other currencies.
Conditions for obtaining a “green” visa for skilled workers:
Regarding workers and skilled workers, he said that in order to qualify for a green residency visa that allows them to work, the worker must meet the following criteria:
1- He must have a work permit in the country under a valid employment contract.
2- He must be a skilled worker at one of the first, second, or third professional levels in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s classification of professions.
3- A bachelor’s degree is the required qualification for beginners.
4- The monthly wage must not be less than 15,000 dirhams or its equivalent in international currencies.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation reiterated that the green residency visa may be renewed for the same period when it expires in this regard.
