The emirates government outlines how to change an expired entry permit's status

The government of the United Arab Emirates revealed a new awareness campaign, which aims to clarify all violations related to tourist visas, work visas and job seekers in the Emirates.

The government confirmed that this campaign will address the importance of expatriates and tourists correcting the status of their visas, by taking stock of the expiration of the visa with which they entered the country. This involves either obtaining a new visa or exiting the country.

Provisions of the new UAE Labor Law

The UAE government added that the campaign will also shed light on the provisions of the new Ghumarat Labor Law, which has already entered into force, and this awareness campaign will be launched in four languages: “Arabic, English, Urdu, and Swahili.”

This campaign was launched starting October 10, 2023, and is scheduled to continue for 3 months, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Rescue Security.

Introducing residents to the main provisions of entry and residence laws

It is worth noting that this campaign, launched by the Ministry of Human Resources in cooperation with the Federal Identity Authority, aims to familiarize residents with the main provisions of the entry and residence laws for foreign citizens in the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the labor relations regulations (labor law), and the procedures and penalties imposed on violators.

These awareness campaigns are supposed to encourage the target groups to abide by the laws in order to guarantee the rights of both parties in the employment relationship.
