A Unique Hybrid System
ART, often referred to as "rail-less buses," offers a unique combination of features that make it a hybrid between buses and trams. Each electric bus can accommodate up to 200 passengers, making it an efficient and eco-friendly choice for urban transportation. The system is driver-operated, ensuring a smooth and safe ride for passengers.
The Route and Stations
During its pilot phase, ART will serve 25 stations along a route extending approximately 27 kilometers. This route includes key locations such as Al Reem Mall, Marina Mall, Zayed the First Street, and Corniche Street on Abu Dhabi Island.
As Passengers can conveniently access popular stops like Corniche, Sheikha Fatima Park, Khalidiya Park, Qasr Al Hosn, NMC Specialty and Lifeline hospitals, Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan Mosque, the Galleria Al Maryah Island, and Marina Square, among others.
No Dedicated Tracks
Unlike traditional trams or trains, ART buses operate on the main roads of Abu Dhabi Island and follow the traffic rules enforced in the city. This flexibility allows the system to adapt to the existing urban infrastructure without the need for dedicated tracks.

Operating Schedule
ART currently operates from Friday to Sunday. Passengers can catch the first trip from Reem Mall at 10 am and the last trip at 2 pm. The service from Marina Mall begins at 11 am, with the last trip departing at 3 pm.
The introduction of the ART system is a significant step toward providing a smart, sustainable, and efficient transportation solution for Abu Dhabi's residents and visitors. It offers a glimpse into the future of urban mobility in the UAE's capital.
