Update: UAE Meteorology announces the latest developments of Cyclone Tej
The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning on Friday that it is anticipated that a tropical depression located in the southern part of the Arabian Sea may develop into a tropical storm during the next twenty-four hours.
However, the Meteorological Department has underlined that the weather disturbance would not have any direct impact on the country; however, the movement of moisture from the Arabian Sea in an easterly and a southernly direction will result in the formation of cumulus clouds, which will be accompanied by rain.
Certain areas of the country are likely to receive rainfall
The National Climate Monitor (NCM) provided an earlier weather forecast in which it was said that certain areas of the country are likely to be subjected to precipitation beginning on Friday, October 20, and continuing through Tuesday, October 24.
There is a probability of fog or mist forming in the morning over various inland and coastal locations for the next four days, according to the general weather forecast.
Attention to residents of the eastern region
Although it will be clear most of the day and partly overcast at other times, people who live in the eastern region should prepare for the possibility of rain in the afternoon because of the development of convective clouds.
It is anticipated that the wind will be light to moderate and blow from the southeast, but it is also anticipated that the wind will shift at times, causing dust to blow with a speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour.
When a low-pressure region is accompanied with thunderstorms that produce a circular wind flow with maximum sustained speeds of less than 62 kilometers per hour, this is the formation of a tropical depression. When the cyclonic circulation gets more organized and there are maximum sustained winds of over 63 kilometers per hour, it is elevated to the status of a tropical storm.
Heavy rain and hail hit the Emirates
In accordance with what was forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology, some areas of the UAE were subjected to intense rainfall on Sunday afternoon.
As the amount of precipitation continues to grow, the authorities in Ras al Khaimah and Fujairah have issued orange and yellow advisories in some areas, The warning will remain in effect until tonight at 8 o'clock.
