As the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, declared the launch of the first commercial flight from Abu Dhabi International Airport's Terminal A.

Yesterday at 14:35, Etihad flight EY224, which carried 359 passengers, took off from Terminal A in Abu Dhabi and arrived in New Delhi. The aircraft is an Airbus A350-1000.
Those who were a part of the historic occasion were greeted by Etihad Airways and Abu Dhabi International Airport, making them the first to travel from the new Terminal A. In honor of the event, all travelers—including those flying in Business and Economy class—had the chance to be among the first to enjoy the brand-new, three-story Etihad Airways main lounges in Terminal A. In the presence of leaders from the aviation industry, Abu Dhabi Airports, and the Etihad Airways Board of Directors, the joyous journey was formally inaugurated.
The CEO of Etihad Airways, Antonualdo Neves, stated: "We are prepared to work on the next chapter of our journey from our new headquarters at Abu Dhabi Airport. This moment is of great importance and significance in the history of Etihad Airways, especially as we approach our twentieth anniversary celebration in November." We are living through a historic time for Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi International Airport, and the entire Emirate of Abu Dhabi, stated Elena Sorlini, Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports. An important milestone in the development of Abu Dhabi's aviation industry was reached with the first flight out of Terminal A.
Etihad Airways is asking all passengers to carefully verify their terminal information within two days before their travel date to ensure accuracy as Etihad Airways flights will be gradually relocated to Terminal A starting on November 9.
Etihad Airways will run its flights from Terminal A and Terminal 3 between November 9 and November 14. On November 14, at 11 a.m., Etihad will start operating all of its flights from Terminal A.
