The Dubai Municipality announced the introduction of a new service for applying for a license for self-maintenance buildings to fix minor structural flaws, which changed maintenance licenses for construction works into self-licenses without requiring an assessment by municipal engineers.
With the cancellation of simple maintenance licenses and licenses for painting works, maintenance licenses for construction works were converted into self-licensing without the need for auditing by municipal engineers. Additionally, the process for obtaining the license was sped up and simplified, with fewer steps required.

Self-maintenance applications are broken down into three categories: easy maintenance, construction self-maintenance, and specialized maintenance.
